BIO

Pedro Rocha is an independent photographer, born in 1982 in Monserrate, Portugal.

Graduated Architecture in Lisbon, he then moved to Oporto where he attended a Professional Photography Course.

Pedro worked as an intern at the best-selling newspaper in Portugal, where he published from day one.

Being able to witness unfolding events, having that privilege, combined with the urgency of conveying them accurately to others in a matter of seconds, led him to take on press photography full time.

Working as a photojournalist since 2010, Pedro has covered a wide array of situations for different publications.

From Breaking News to Sports, from Portraits to Events, and always relying on a strong sense of editorial integrity, Pedro regularly photographs assignments requested by news editors and is very proactive in independently developing  story ideas.

He photographs for several national titles, such as Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Notícias OJogo or Abola and often works as a Stringer for the Associated Press and Agence France-Presse.

Confinement brought new perspectives and new goals.

Pedro is making his way in documentary photography and dedicating himself to personal projects.

He is currently working on a report on drug use and the Portuguese Decriminalization Law.
